English: The excavations of Khotiv site of ancient settlement of Scythian time (dated by VI-IV century B.C.) which have been carried out since the beginning of February to the end of May of year of 2016 by members of Inkerman archeological expedition of the Institute of Archeology (of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine); the expedition is temporary based in Kyiv since the occupation of Crimea by Russia. Khotiv settlement is located in Khotiv village in the suburban zone of Kyiv city and borders straight upon historical neighborhood of Feofaniya. The settlement is the farthest one located to the north among Scythian settlements in the Right-bank Ukraine and was given with the status of immovable monument of Ukraine of national importance in the year of 1965. During the excavations in February-May 2016 the archeologists explored the surface and the cultural stratum of the settlement, the remains of a number of the protecting walls, found the ancient rising entrance to the settlement with the remains of burned stone and wooden constructions, the surrounding moat and small bridge-ramp, the reinforced slope, the remains of the pillar constructions, etc. The scientists found also the steles, a lot of arrowheads, the fragments of ceramic kitchen utensils and tableware, other ceramic and stone handicrafts, the remains of ancient manufacture, the fragments of human and animal bones, etc. The completed excavations and explorations have also resulted in the creation and issuing of upgraded official passport of the Khotiv archeological monument with updated and more precise borders and the plan of the settlement and the official registration of the upgraded passport in the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
