Дромеозавриди (лат. Dromeosauridae, від [] помилка: {{lang-xx}}: немає тексту (допомога) дромеос - бігун і заурус - ящір) — родина, в основному, невеликих хижих ящеротазових динозаврів (Saurischia), викопні останки яких відомі з середньої юри (Бат, близько 167 млн років назад) по кінець крейди (Маастрихт, близько 65,5 млн років назад). Найбільш відомі представники - велоцираптор, дейноних, дромеозавр, мікрораптор, ютараптор і інші.
Опис
Це швидкі і люті динозаври, були грозою для інших динозаврів. У них було легке тіло, міцні ноги з гострими серповидними кігтями, добре розвинений мозок, велика голова і витягнуті щелепи з гострими зігнутими зубами. Пересувалися і полювали вони скоріш за все зграями і іноді вбивали тварин подібних собі.
Класифікація
Нині питання про те, до кого відносяться дромеозавриди, до динозаврів або птахів залишається відкритим. Деякі вважають, що дромеозавридів краще класифікувати як птахів, а не динозаврів.[3].
