Соул (від англ. soul — «душа») — найбільш емоційно-почуттєвий, «душевний» напрямок популярної музики чорношкірих мешканців США (ритм-енд-блюзу), що склалося в південних штатах США в кінці 1950-х років під впливом традиції джазової вокальної імпровизації та спірічуелів.
