Lycophidion (вовча змія) — рід змій родини Lamprophiidae. Представники цього роду мешкають в Африці на південь від Сахари.
Опис[ред. | ред. код]
Вовчі змії ведуть нічний спосіб життя і живляться дрібними сплячими ящірками. Пласкі голови і великі вигнуті зуби допомагають їм діставати ящірок з їх нір. Вовчі змії відкладають яйця, в кладці у них 3-10 яєць.

Етимологія[ред. | ред. код]
Наукова назва роду Lycophidion походить від сполучення слів дав.-гр. λυκος — вовк і οφιδιον — змійка[7].
