Швейцарський журнал економіки та статистики — це рецензований економічний науковий журнал із відкритим доступом, який видається SpringerOpen [7] від імені Швейцарської асоціації економіки та статистики та за фінансової підтримки Швейцарської академії гуманітарних і соціальних наук та Швейцарського національного банку . [8] [9] Головний редактор — Маріус Брюльхарт (Лозанський університет). [10]
Журнал був заснований у 1864 році [7] під назвами Zeitschrift für Schweizerische Statistik (німецькою мовою) та Journal de Statistique et Revue économique Suisse (французькою мовою). Його першим редактором був Йоганнес Штоссель, секретарем Федерального управління статистикою, який працював редактором з 1864 по 1869 рік. [11]
У 1916 році журнал називався Zeitschrift für schweizerische Statistik und Volkswirtschaft (німецькою мовою) та Journal de statistique et Revue économique suisse (французькою мовою), а з 1945 року його перейменовано у Schweizerische Zeitschrift für Volkswirtschaft und Statistik (німецькою мовою), Revue suisse d'Economie politique et de Statistique (французькою мовою) та створено Swiss Journal of Economics and Statistics (англійською мовою). The Central Commission, deeply aware that the departure of Mr. Dr. Stossel from his previous position is a significant blow to Swiss statistics in general, and particularly to our society, has expressed its profound regret over his departure from Bern. At the same time, it has expressed its sincere gratitude to him for the selfless and dedicated manner in which he has managed the affairs of the Secretariat and, in particular, the editorship of our journal since the founding of the Swiss Statistical Society. The Central Commission is convinced that the members of the society will agree with it in recognizing the great merits that Mr. Dr. Stossel has earned for the society. — The previous attempts to find another suitable editor for our publication to replace Mr. Dr. Stossel have unfortunately been unsuccessful. This circumstance is also the reason for the considerable delay that the appearance of a new issue has suffered.
