• In this meeting it'd be great if you can present us with what happened in your branches in the past two to four months. That'll be our first agenda. And then we'll follow the set agenda like the previous meeting which will be shared with you during the session.
• As always members from the TWL team at WMF will be there to help facilitate and answer questions. We are interested in hearing from you about what you’re working on and what’s working!

#1Lib1Ref is happening again in May!

#1Lib1Ref, the annual campaign where librarians add references to improve Wikipedia, is coming back again this year, running from May 15th to June 5th, 2018.

• Why twice? We heard from you a desire to run it again out of excitement, because May is not summer vacation for the southern hemisphere, and because Spanish Wikipedia's birthday also falls in May. This is a great expansion of the event and it means that there is another opportunity to make Wikipedia more factual and verifiable by leveraging the expertise of librarians around the world.
• How does this relate to the main campaign in January? We encourage librarians, community members, and affiliates to make 1Lib1Ref their own. So whether we call this 1Lib1Ref May, 1Lib1Ref for the Southern Hemisphere, or 1Lib1Ref Strikes Back, the point is the excitement is building again, and we'd like you to be a part of it.
• If I participated in January, do I have to do it again in May? It's entirely up to you, this is just another chance if you want to do more, or if you couldn't get around to January activities. This is a pilot for us, too, so we'll see how it goes and discuss what we learned after the May campaign.

Привіт! Конкурс «Вікі любить музику» завершився: створено чи поліпшено 539 статей, понад 50 учасників. Наше журі розпочне роботу вже через кілька днів, але нам хотілося б, щоб якість конкурсних робіт була вищою, тому організаційний комітет дає можливість поліпшити вже створені (чи поліпшені) конкурсні статті до 09 липня включно. Зокрема, зверніть увагу:

• чи є зауваження до статей, що Ви створили чи поліпшили, тут: Вікіпедія:Вікі любить музику/Конкурсні статті;
• чи Ваша конкурсна стаття має елемент Вікіданих (детальніше тут), адже без нього статтю не буде зараховано;
• перечитайте статтю ще раз, чи там нема неузгоджених речень, чи є наведені джерела тощо.

Ми сподіваємося, що цей додатковий час дасть Вам можливість поліпшити Ваші статті, а читачам Вікіпедії — отримати якісніший матеріал. З повагою, організаційний комітет конкурсу «Вікі любить музику»

The Wikipedia Library – #1Lib1Ref

As you might've already known, #1Lib1Ref is happening again in May!

#1Lib1Ref, the annual campaign where librarians add references to improve Wikipedia, is back for another round, running from May 15th to June 5th, 2019.

• Not every part of the world is in sync, more particularly the southern and northern hemispheres. While the January version of the #1lib1ref campaign works well mostly for the northern hemisphere, it doesn't for the countries below the equator. Hence #1lib1ref May! This is a great expansion of the event and it means that there is another opportunity to make Wikipedia more factual and verifiable by leveraging the expertise of librarians around the world.
• While this campaign encourages participation from the southern hemisphere, we would love for you to join us even if you participated in the January campaign – after all, Wikipedia is only as strong as its references! So whether we call this 1Lib1Ref May, 1Lib1Ref for the Southern Hemisphere, or 1Lib1Ref Strikes Back, the point is the excitement is building again, and we'd like you to be a part of it.

Привіт! Ви належите до найактивніших патрульних останнього часу; оскільки ви проводите чимало часу у Вікіпедії, то я подумала, що вам може бути цікаво.
Планується (я писала про це у Кнайпі (пропозиції)) увімкнути в уквікі нову функцію під назвою «Домашня сторінка новачка»: свіжозареєстрований користувач матиме власну «домашню», де будуть підказки про те, що можна зробити, і, що головне — згадуватиметься персональний наставник. Таким чином, новачок могтиме звернутися із запитанням не в знеособлену кнайпу (про яку ще якось треба дізнатися), а до конкретної людини, яка зголосилася допомагати.
Система випадково присвоюватиме новачкам когось зі списку тих, хто додав своє ім'я на цій сторінці: Вікіпедія:Кнайпа (допомога)/Наставники.

The Wikipedia Library – #1Lib1Ref
#1Lib1Ref is happening again from January 15th through February 5th!

From January 15th to February 5th we will be joining together around the world to make Wikipedia more reliable. You can participate in #1Lib1Ref by simply adding a citation to Wikipedia's content!

That's all we ask and imagine: a world in which every librarian (or archivist, reference professional, and scholar) adds 1 more reference to Wikipedia. This is the fifth year of the #1Lib1Ref campaign and we couldn’t be more excited to support another year of activities.

• If you are planning to host a coffee hour or a edit-a-thon focused on #1Lib1Ref, and you need funding for the event, you will be able to apply for a Rapid Grant. For the best chance of approval, requests should be made in the month of November, since requests related to #1Lib1Ref will be given priority by the Grants team during November.
• You can make sure your contribution is counted by using the Program and Events Dashboard for your event, institution, or region, and using the #1Lib1Ref hashtag in your edit summary. Login to start a new event or join an existing one for the January campaign.
• You can join the 1Lib1Ref community via the Wikimedia & Libraries, and 1Lib1Ref mailing lists, or by joining the Wikimedia and Libraries User Group.

Пишемо про пам’ятки культури до Вікіпедії

Вітаю! До кінця лютого триває акція зі створення та поліпшення статей про пам'ятки культури України — тематичний тиждень «Пишемо про пам'ятки культури до Вікіпедії».

Ми проводимо фотоконкурс «Вікі любить пам'ятки» з 2012 року, і за ці роки вдалося зібрати 280 тисяч вільних фотографій пам'яток культури. На жаль, далеко не всі з цих пам'яток належно представлені в українській Вікіпедії, і далеко не всі якісні фотографії використовуються у статтях Вікіпедії. Ми прагнемо покращити це.

Я згоден, що багатьох аж розпирає від інформації, часто фейкової. Мені ще пару днів і я завершу те, що на сьогодні є. А далі звичайно долучатися, хоча більшість правлень — непрофесійні. Мене збурило, що ви наперекір тому, що є в тлі шаблону "Пишу", його зняли, не маючи для цього права (вставили б своє просто), і потім вставили шаблон «Експерт», милостиво згодились, щоб його зняли, хоча його зняв адміністратор без вашої згоди як недоцільний (а для мене ще й обурливий). У Вікі немає поваги до фахівців, хоча я не очікував від людини з вищої освітою такого. «Надмірна демократія - це те, що я з віком ненавиджу все більше». В. Черчилль. Чим вам незначима школа Острівець?

Вітаю. Я ваш шаблон не розумію.

Школа є міжнародною, і таких в Україні не так багато, мало того, це не школа, створена у нас не чиїмось посольством, а наша, рідна українська школа. Будете стверджувати, що це «незначимий критерій»?

Міжнародний статус школи підтверджує факт занесення її до реєстру Шкіл Кембриджської міжнародної системи екзаменування. Небагато в Україні таких шкіл! Будете стверджувати, що і це «незначимий критерій»?

Як і більшість таких шкіл у світі, вона почала добиватися статусу міжнародної, починаючи з садочка, із дорослішанням учнів, появилася і початкова школа.
