Айн Ренд
Айн Ренд (англ. Ayn Rand, МФА: [ˈaɪn ˈrænd] — уроджена Аліса Зіновіївна Розенбаум; *2 лютого 1905, Санкт-Петербург — †6 березня 1982, Нью-Йорк) — американська письменниця російського походження й автор бестселерів, філософ,[1] драматург, та сценарист. Творець філософської системи, назва якої — «об'єктивізм».

Народилась в єврейській родині в Росії, емігрувала до Сполучених Штатів у 1926 році. Працювала сценаристом в Голлівуді та була автором драми, що ставилася на сцені на Бродвеї в 1935—1936 рр. Стала відомою як автор «The Fountainhead» (1943),[2] та найвідомішої праці — філософського роману «Атлант розправив плечі» (англ. «Atlas Shrugged») — надрукований 1957 року.
Політичні погляди Ренд знайшли відображення в її художніх творах та теоретичних працях в яких робиться наголос на особистих правах (разом із приватною власністю) та вільному капіталізмі, що підтримуються конституційно обмеженою державою. Ренд була затятим противником колективізму та етатизму.[3][4] разом з фашизмом, комунізмом та соціальною державою.[5] Вона була атеїстом та підтримувала етичний егоїзм (який вона називала «раціональним інтересом до себе») і так само була проти альтруїзму (який вона називала «моральним канібалізмом»).[6]
